She may think like Job did and Satan is far more immediate to her.

Sally's ego and identity is wrapped up pretty tightly within her religious/political group and it would take a major conversion for her to change her disposition of acting out as a wrathful god seeking vengeance.

To begin to know God is to begin to experience His divine love. One realizes they are not alone and that they are loved, truly loved. It is to begin to understand ever so gently, yet powerfully, that Jesus knew God and loved God better than anyone who has ever lived. When I read Jesus' words I hear God and that voice echoes in my heart and soul as I seek to understand the living words. When I seek I find and that has been my experience as I witness. I find Jesus because Jesus said that I would if I did seek. If I find Jesus, God is not far away at all.butterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09684946870144030594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8383701632927065467.post-21764009842675616692009-07-01T21:19:00.202-06:002009-07-01T21:19:00.202-06:00Great post Butterfly. She probably never will be.

God is so much more than man can ever begin to intellectually define, no matter how hard we try. You can only experience God and that experience does not lend itself to words. Even Jesus, who knew the totality of God best was forced the choose the word "Father'.

This is a huge distinction from Job's idea who did not see God as father because Satan was far more immediate in his pantheon of spiritual entities. In the end, Job made God answer to Job.

The lesson I take from this story is that we really have to answer to our own selves, which is very closely aligned to our concept of God, and when we get over ourselves it's then that we realize God our ever loving father is there for the asking.colkochhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03432916690101599393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8383701632927065467.post-13685344810858808212009-07-01T21:13:44.251-06:002009-07-01T21:13:44.251-06:00I laughed and laughed when reading Rob Boston'...I laughed and laughed when reading Rob Boston's article in Talk to Action:

Sally Kern, Unpatriot: Why Does Oklahoma's Looney Lawmaker Hate America?
By Rob Boston Wed Jul 01, 2009 at 11:16:12 AM

"Everyone's favorite raging theocrat, Oklahoma House member Sally Kern, is at it again."

LOL!!butterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09684946870144030594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8383701632927065467.post-8622363426812567852009-07-01T14:20:16.321-06:002009-07-01T14:20:16.321-06:00The fundamentalist evangelist do believe that our ...The fundamentalist evangelist do believe that our economy failed because of issues of immorality, so I am not surprised to see that first on Sally Kern's list. I seriously doubt, however, that Sally has many economic woes personally, but if she had, would that mean she had sinned? That is what Job was trying to tell his friends after he lost everything; that he had done no wrong. That did not stop the belief of his friends that he must have done something wrong to have lost everything and to be suffering so much. Amazing that Bible followers do not get what is really in the Bible yet and false teachers promote views counter to the truth.

Her words in total are a refutation of the founding father's intentions for this United States of America.

I agree with you Colleen that greed is a moral issue that is being overlooked. Adultery as well is being overlooked. Greed is the affect of policies put into place by corporate interest, not interest in our country and its people.

It is very sad that Sally Kern wants to blame the failure of the economy and probably the bad weather on gays and failed relationships, as well as relationships of abuse. God does not cause any of these ills. These ills exist, because as you pointed out very well in yesterday's blog, there are way too many enablers of abusers who are blinded by the charisma of their employer, leader, or pastor and the status it brings them.

Hers is another form of abuse which is to lie and say this is a Christian nation. This is not a Christian nation. This country was formed and laws put into place to ensure there would be no absolute rulers in this country and that there would be freedom to practice one's religion, be represented in government and able to make a living. This country is a great blessing for many people of all faiths. Too bad Sally takes her distorted religious ideology and wants to make that the State's policies for all its citizens.

Sally did not mention adultery for a reason and it's probably because the men who back her would not let her. Men who commit adultery and expect their wives to enable them to continue in the adultery ad infinitum are going to find themselves in divorce court. So, yes, it is amazing that Sally did not mention adultery as it is probably the reason for many of the divorces. Sounds as if the men want to stay married and play on the side and think that is moral as long as they stay married. That's just plain old abusive and ignorant. Bible toting people need to really read the New Testament and get their heads out of the Old, which all they have done with it is turn it into nonsense with no true understanding of God at all. Yes, Sally, that means you need to get real and learn who the real God truly is.butterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09684946870144030594noreply@blogger.com
